Thursday 30 May Havresekken invites you to a genre free musical evening with three artists in Norway’s first savings bank. Join us for a musical journey of discovery in the bank, and see what kind of temptations are lurking inside one of Oslo’s safest vault! (And we might be one of them…)
ARTIST #77: CONTEMPORARY CIKADAS
This 9-piece ensemble was founded in 1989 and has since toured the world and released a number of albums. They have a high star on the international contemporary music scene and have collaborated with a number of modern composers, such as James Dillon and Eivind Buene. But even in their fully composed music they retain their distinct sound. On June 1st they will move into the bank as a test project for the new cultural center. Three of them will come to Havresekken to record their new home! The sound of Oslo!
CHRISTIANIA SPAREBANK: is Norway's first savings bank. A colossus. A fortress. With guarding granite lions. But something is about to happen. Soon the doors will close for a major renovation, and the bank's 12,000 square meters will become a cultural center! The vault and marble hall will be filled with art and culture. The address is the same as before: Øvre slottgate 3. In the middle of the city with all public transport in the immediate vicinity. We will signpost you as you approach so you don't get lost in the area, but here is a map just in case.
