Cikada plays Carola Bauckholt

ULTIMA OSLO CONTEMPORARY MUSIC FESTIVAL 

German composer Carola Bauckholt is considered by many to be one of Germany’s most interesting and fascinating composers. Bauckholt studied under the renowned composer Mauricio Kagel, and in a long series of works has explored the boundaries between music and theatre, instrumental sounds and everyday noises. The fact that the Cikada ensemble is devoting an entire evening to Bauckholt is something of an occasion, and in a concert containing three first performances to boot.
